"Sparky"

David came in to me today and said he thought Sparky was dead. He is David's hampster that he has just had for a few months. It was a 1 year Anniversary present from his girlfriend Antonietta. We dont understand what happened. Sparky was active and cheerful. Just Friday he was in the den chewing on the sides of his cage and making noise like always. He seemed happy and healthy. I feel sad because Sparky made me realize that I shouldnt judge something/someone until I give them a chance. I realized that Sparky and our other 3 cats COULD get along, even when i didnt think it was good to have 3 cats and a hampster all under one roof. Only once did Sparkys cage fall to the floor (during the first few days) because one of the cats had pushed it off of Davids desk. He was very entertaining as he ran around on his ball on the floor. Mike and I would chuckle as we watched him...
Just last week Sparky was in his exercise ball and rolling around Davids bedroom floor. It got trapped in between the wall and clothes on the floor and Sierra decided to lay down & fall asleep. Sierra completely enclosed Sparky in so he couldnt get out. Even then Sparky was safe and Sierra looked content to just sleep and keep guard. I am saddened that he is gone and we will all miss him.

Fathers Day

Fathers Day is today! We were slow moving on this quiet morning. Everyone went to Wallace Lake and cooked out on the grill. Warm breezy day and the sun was shining bright! The lake is peaceful...
Justin fished, Jon kicked the soccer ball around, David sat and talked to us and we reminisced about watching the movie Forest Gump. Good conversation, & good food.We even boiled corn-on-the-cob right on the grill & it was tasty~ The day seemed to last forever. Quietness in a busy schedule was well deserved!

It is like it is

Whenever i feel like writing i just write. I like the sound of the keys typing, and don't want to stop. Right now i am just trying to type for 10 minutes straight to see where my thoughts take me, so here I am and I'm just thinking and thinking and maybe I should do something crazy out of the blue . I really feel like it and havent done it for a long time> ive been having panic attacks recently and i feel like i am going out of my mind. When i went to sleep last night i laid there and couldnt breathe. Mike tried to calm me by rubbing my chest and it did calm me but then i started breathing shallow and next thing i knew was mike was checking my pulse to see if i was OK. I ended up laughing out loud because it was so sweet for him to be concerned. I know I am loved and he doesnt like to see me upset which is what i
have been lately. I am letting go of a friend who doesnt want to be friends anymore. Thats OK.
Today I did something really stupid. I took my sons Epipen and tried to empty it but it shot into my thumb and now my thumb is numb. I held it up to the other thumb and there is no color, only white, what a trip that is, so now I am tryint to type with a numb thumb. I am wondering
if i need to be concerned, maybe i should put it in warm water to try to get the circulation back. or take a bath like i have for the past two nights to try to get over a cold.
You would think with all this typing there would be some circulation back in my thumb...

WE MAY NOT HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER, BUT TOGETHER WE HAVE IT ALL!

Maturity is the ability to do a job whether or not you are supervised,
to carry money without spending it,
and to bear an injustice without wanting to get even.

Mothers Day

Mothers day was very special. i had cereal for breakfast, my choice, got a royal treatment for a while and got to relax. I watched a movie, Must like Dogs. Very good.. Ive seen it at least 4 times and still love it. A good romance movie.

My husband got me a Bible. I have been wanting one for quite some time. I also got gifts from my boys. They were very kind.
In the afternoon i got to talk to a dear old friend who still lives in florida. it was good to hear that she is doing so much better since her divorce. I prayed that she would be strong enough to get through it and she was..

I thank the Lord for my family and good friends!

Purple flowers in my yard
will be placed in a special card.
My card is for my very best friend
who will be beside me till time ends.
My heart glows yellow, purple and blue
with crimson colors that shine through.
I love this time of day when love comes to me in lilacs & peonies.

Expect the unexpected

(or you wont find it)
a creativity tool based on the ancient wisdom of Heraclitus
bt Roger von Oech , author of A Whack on the Side of the Head.

Heraclitus was a ancient Greek philosopher that was famous for his brilliand and provacative sayings.
The creative Insights of Heraclitus:
1. The cosmos speaks in patterns
2. Expect the unexpected, or you wont find it.
3. Everything flows.
4. You cant step in the same river twice.
5. That which opposes produces a benefit.
6. A wonserful harmony is created when we join together the seemingly unconnected.
7. If all things turned to smoke, the nose would become the discerning organ.
8. The Sun will not exceed its limits, because the avenging Furies, ministers of Justince, would find out.
9. Lovers of wisdom must open their minds to very many things.
10. I searched into myself.
11. Knowing many things doesnt teach insight.
12. Many fail to grasp whats right in the palm of their hands.
13. When there is no sun, we can see the evening stars.
14. The most beautiful order is a heap of sweepings piled up at random.
15. Things love to conceal their true nature.
16. Those who approach life like a child playing a game, moving and pushing pieces, posess the power of kings.
17. Sea water is both pure and polluted: for fish it is drinkable and life-giving: for humans undrinkable and destructive.
18. On a circle, an end point can also be a beginning point.
19. It is diesease that makes health pleasant, hunger that makes fullness good, and weariness that makes rest sweet.
20. Dogs bark at what they dont understand.
21. The doctor inflicts pain to cure suffering.

23. A things rests by changing.
24. The barley-wine drink falls apart unless it is stirred.
25. While we're awake, we share one universe, but in sleep we are each turn away to a world of our own.
26. Donkeys prefer garbage to gold.
27. Every walking animal is driven to its purpose with a whack.
28. There is a greater need to extinguish arrogance thatn a blazing fire.
29. Your character is your destiny.
30.The sun is new each day.

Nourishment

This is from the Book - I Ching:

RE: Waiting (Nourishment)

There is a situation at hand that cannot be corrected by force or external effort. The Creative will provide the solution to one who waits with a correct attitude. This is a time for patience and careful attention to inner truth.

Do not give into to doubt and agitation now. You are not meant to wait in a state of desperate longing but in one of patient inner strength. Without certainty in the power of truth, success is impossible. Attempts to force a change, rather than allowing it to mature naturally, will only cause misfortune.

You would be wide to strengthen and reaffirm your reliance on the Creative. When you indulge in fear and doubt, you flood the arena where the Higher Power is attempting to work. Your principal responsibility in life is to keep this arena- your own consciousness- free of negative influences.

By accepting things as they are and not making fruitless comparisons to the situations of others or some imagined ideal, one engages the power of the Creative. If one then remains balanced, modest, and independent, good fortune will come to hand.

What now?

I feel like I am under a bulldozer slowly getting flattened out. When will it stop. My son seems not to care at all about school and doing the work that he needs to do to get good grades. I have given the opportunity to him to prove that he can do this on his own, his own way and own time. Granted i am still edging him on to do the work and do his best. I am hoping and praying that he will come around and get it together.
Luke 17:3 "Be on your guard!" If your brother sins, rebuke him: and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins against you "seven times a day and returns to you seven times saying I repent, forgive him. And the apostles said to the Lord "Increase your faith!" And the Lord said If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and be planted in the sea and it would obey you.
I have faith in him and I will not falter.

WOW

I was suprised to see a message from an fellow ebayer that had previously seen my listing for a cute Royal Rose Creamer. Now, a few months later she is interested in buying it... It's great that she can research an expired listing, and contact me to see if it is still for sale. I am excited that this is happening!!

I am going to my first ebay class tonight and am excited about this also. I am praying that it will help me to feel more comfortable with what i am selling and how i am going about it. I have looked at several sites that show how to display jewelry to sell and am getting this together also.

God will guide me through the steps that i need to take to be successful. I can do the work i just need a litte push!!

what do i do?

I am in the middle of looking for some sort of way to earn some income. i am trying to sell things on ebay and have sold a few things in the past.
Now i am looking for a source to sell other things and i am getting more and more confused the more i research on the web. there is wholesale- drop-ship places that "claim" to do just that. the more i research , i am finding that there are loads of people being ripped off by doing this. where are the reputable companies willing to sell products without a middleman?? any input would be greatly appreciated. has anyone gone through this? what are your experiences? i would love to hear what you have done.

I have been a crafter for a while now and have made jewelry that i am going to put on to a site and sell. I am feeling that this is my calling. err go..I love working with my hands and i want to sell the jewelry i make. seems logical and easy enough...
i am on my way to photograph my jewelry and post it.

I'm Hoping

I'm hoping that this post will post today. I've been having problems with it taking and have missed several days because of this. Today will be good, i feel it!

I've been feeling very ho-hum lately. Must be all the snow outside that is forcing me to cocoon in the house. Today is 44 degrees and i will make it a priority to get out and walk around the
neighborhood. Fresh air is wonderful when you are feeling a little depressed. Exercise and fresh air for me today will refresh & energize my body and bring me back to life. I will inhale all the cool air and listen to the birds chirping while walking slowly and taking it all in.

Ive got books & DVD's due at the library. I will watch my DVD-The Leading Man with Jon Bon Jovi this week. That will cheer me.

My friend Amy stopped by over the weekend and she is always so cheerful. She says it has to do with the drugs shes on for OCD. Maybe, but i know when i talk to her she is truly interested in what is going on in my life and she will always be there to listen to me ramble. She likes to ramble too though and I think im a pretty good friend and listener.

On Saturday night Bob & Kim came over and had dinner with us. It turned out pretty good actually. Im always a little nervous that they wouldnt like what i make. But Mike assures me that i am a good cook and it turned out just fine. Mike always knows the right things to say to me when im unsure of myself. I on the other hand, insert my foot into my mouth quite often and make him feel badly. This is not how I feel but it is how it turns out and i need to change that. Mike is always doing for everyone and he doesnt know what a good husband, & father he is to us. The kids sometimes dont show the best manners in appreciating what he does and it does get to be a problem sometimes. They are getting older and hopefully wiser. I try to talk to them at their level & to make them understand how things work and how people feel. It is a lifelong struggle to keep at it. I know that God is looking over me to keep me on the right track. Im always asking for direction and listening to hear his answers. I think I am getting better at listening and being more aware of what i am supposed to do. God has a plan for me and i am trying to do what is expected of me. I pray for guidance in my everyday tasks and look for more in life to fulfill me and sustain my family. Thanks be to God!

Our cats

Tasha, Sierra & Autumn. These are our cats. They love us. They keep our feet warm at night. They purr gently into our ears and knead our chest just to be close & show us they care. They climb up to the top bunk and sleep wit Justin or curl up with David or Jonny. They are the three musketeers.

Sometimes they keep us up at night because there is no food in the bowl. Sometimes we get out the flashlight to see what they are doing in the dark, and if they are really get into something and keep us awake, we get out the squirt gun to show them we mean business.

I love them dearly...

Weather is a funny thing... a month ago it was well into the 60's and now it's in the single digits.
Today i took my boys to the Nobottom Road sledding hill. It was a wonderful 8 degrees and the sun was shining down on us. I shall call it a beautiful day. When we arrived a handful of kids were already there having fun. Linking arms and sliding down the hill, arm in arm on each of their sleds & saucers. Laughter all around. I was the only 47 year old on the hill im sure. I was exhilarated gliding down the hill at such a fast speed & not having total control of my blue sled. Going face first was the best!! I felt young & loved every minute of it! We will go again tomorrow since it is another Snow Day for the kids and NO SCHOOL! Brrr...

Everything you don't know can
be used against you.

Whatevery you can do, or
dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius,
power & magic in it.
Begin it now.

You must be the change you wish to be in the world.

The morning snow is pretty heavy. We have about 5 inches on the ground and a few more is expected today. Snow is beautiful and clean... I love driving in the snow with the flakes hitting the windshield and dissapearing into nowhere behind me.

I have lots of things to do today to feel more comfortable in my skin & without hesitation, I will get them done.

I tell you why I did all these things.
It is very simple.
I did all these things because they
needed to be done....

I Ching

Today I rolled the coins and read my I Ching.

This is what it turned out to be...

1. CH'IEN/ THE CREATIVE

If you are alert to the Creative
you will meet with good fortune now.

This hexagram signals a time when the fundamental creative power of the universe is available to you. An unrestricted outpouring of benevolent energy from the heavens makes possible profound progress for those who are conscientiously following proper principles.

Frantic activity is not in order. Your responsibility instead is to be open & receptive to the Higher Power, allowing it to guide your actions. By allowing inferior thoughts & habits to pass away, you make room for an expansion of your superior qualities, which leads inevitably to good fortune. In your conduct with others, embody tolerance, reticence, & gentleness. Strive to meet others halfway in every situation. To overextend yourself, or require that of another, is to create an undesirable imbalance.

Your attitude toward the Sage is most important. Alertness and receptiveness are paramount. To receive the powerful assistance of the Creative, remain humble, patient, accepting & responsive. Careful attention to truth brings vast rewards at this time.
