Things about me

These are things about me that are either known or not known...

1~ i dye my hair about every 6 weeks
2~ i have a small collection of bobble-heads. They are the greatest things when i need a pick-me-up.
3~ i make lists & try to be organized.
4~ finding my lists is another story~ misplace my lists??? me???
5~ i prefer to have purpose in my life
6~my alarm clock is either my husband waking up or the light in the hall bathroom shining in my eyes
7~ i believe in Karma. what goes around, comes around.
8~i secretly watch All My Children - ever since high school - 20 years ago
9~kitties and cats are my love, they are so soft under their chins and on their bellies. they give to me what i think heaven will be like
10~" i am a chocoholic" -i enjoy chocolate every day of my 37, uh, i mean 47 years of my life
11~One of my joys/snacking on cookies is a bad addition for me.
12~my favorite drink is Captain Morgans and Pepsi with a twist of lime
13~Bon Jovi is my all time favorite band. i love to crank up the music and sing out loud in the car. A guy in the car next to me watched me and smiled at me because i guess i looked like i was having so much fun!
14~ ironing and hanging clothes to dry on the line is very meditative to me. Nope, i dont mind doing these things, in fact, i quite enjoy them...
15~I am a Farmgirl at heart. Back to the Basics is becoming a passion for me. I love doing things like composting, canning, making easy homemade meals from recipies, making fires, hanging clothes out to dry and ironing. I would love to make beef jerkey too-
16~ My favorite book is MaryJanes Farmbook, Cookbook & Ideabook. I have learned all the essentials to get Back to Basics.
17~I will learn the Harmonica in my lifetime

20~ I am a people watcher
21~ my addition is to Spider Solitaire
22~ I am knitting scarfs for the servicemen in Iraq. Pat Catans has donated yarn to knit scarfs and so far i have knitted 2 scarfs & am working on #3. these will be sent to Iraq in time for christmas for the troops.
23~ my nephew will be with us for Christmas this year. Thank you God!
24~ I love my 3 cats very much. also love turtles.
25~ i just want to have fun!
26~ i hate it when people say "you guys" to a bunch of ladies. it makes me want to rip off my shirt and say, see these, does this look like a guy?? you moron.....
27~ i have flashbacks- like deja vu- a lot. especially when watching movies, i always say to my loving husband, have we seen this already? and he'll say no, but you probably saw the previews and just think you have seen it. he is so patient with me.

43~ i have a little voice inside my head that tells me right from wrong. i tell my children to listen to their little voice. it is usually right on.

48~ i am happy, one of my oldest friends, joanie, is happy now.
49~ i love to express my thoughts & feelings. They say that " God may have given a wife 50,000 words per day and her husband only 25,000. He comes home with 24,976 used and merely grunts his way through the evening. He may descent into Monday Night Football, while his wife is dying to expend her remaining 25,000 words." well.well.well. that sounds about right to me.

Short-er November Days

these days... my life is calming down- somewhat. the days are shorter and darker. it takes work to get the required sunshine in northern Ohio.
i thought since Football games and coaching are over for the kids that we would have more time together.. so now starts hockey starts and basketball. and there is music in the house!! ~ guitar lessons are going well for mike.
For myself, i have taken up crochting and knitting. a local craft store is donating yarn to make scarfs for our servicemen in iraq. i have finished 2 crochet scarfs and am working on the 3rd one as a knitted masterpiece. it is very meditative for me. and i love anything that calme me down. hanging clothes on the clothesline, folding, ironing, writing.. al that is good stuff.
today i am on a mission to get many things done so i am on my way!

Roll with it...
Yes, another struggle in my life that i need to roll with. Parents are not easy to understand and they sure dont try to understand me either. Perhaps one day, but not today.
I was driving to get gas today and just happened to pass my parents car going the other way. It was not by chance, and the song Bridge over troubled water was playing. This was God speaking to me, I am sure. Come'on...i havent heard that song for nearly 10 years. I know i need to give and take and sometimes I just get tired of being the one to give in, or the one to take crap from them. Well i will get over this..it will just take time as my loving husband says...

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

I know i have some anxiety but anxiety is only a fear of one's own self.

Airplants

I have aquired several airplants on our vacations in Florida. Air Plants are epiphytes, a type of plant that doesn't need soil to grow. It gets what it needs from the air. One large airplant that I adopted from Siesta Key was hot glued onto a piece of driftwood and attached to my tree out front with fishing line. It is really beautiful during the summer months. When the temperature drops I just bring it in and care for it the same. Right now it is attached to to a standing bamboo screen. Just spray it with water every so often and it smiles. Not a lot of work to keep them happy. You can put them in glass vases, jars or the like. When you put them in clear jars they look really cool. One air plant i have was put in with an orchid that is an epiphyte also. I just spray it with orchid fertilizer. I have had it for at least 8 years and they are great companions.
