Operation Nice

A while back i was at a meeting at Panera Breads. I had used my cell phone when i was there and when i got home i immediately noticed that i no longer had my phone. I called my cell phone several times and there was no answer. I called Panera and asked them to look around for it. They did and didnt find it. I felt like I had lost a part of me and i wanted it back. All my photos contacts messages, they all meant so much to me.  I called Panera's again at 6am the next morning and they stilll did not find it. They told  me that they wouldnt look in the parking lot though and informed me that the street sweeper had come thru earlier that morning and if it was there it most likely got swept up. My last didtch effort was to go there and look for myself. Nothing turned up so I went home. When I arrived there was a message   on my answering machine saying that they were at Panera early this morning and wanted to return my phone. They lived about 5 miles away but were going to be in the town next to me in a little while and could I meet them? Of course I was happy to hear this great news. I grabbed a friend of mine and we drve to pick it up. The gentleman was so kind, I offered a reward but he declined. So we thanked him and wished him well.It felt so good to have someone be so kind in this world today.

Anyways about a month ago, I was driving and saw something shiny in the road that a car in front of me had hit. It was spinning around and I knew it was someones lost phone. I stopped and grabbed it, took it home, and tried to find a contact person. No one was listed. Ten minutes later someone called and asked for Michelle. I explained that this was not Michelle but I had found her phone and how could I reach her. They gave me her work number and when I contacted her, she didnt even know her phone had been missing! Shortly afterward she came to my house to pick it up and was genuinely grateful. I told her how I had felt when i lost my phone and it felt good to give her her phone back!
So it went full circle!!

It's My Life

My Horoscope for Monday June 28, 2010

  1. CancerCancer (6/22-7/22)
People may laugh when you say you're in a rut, but you know it's true. Something has been going on for way too long, and you may be feeling the dulling effects of too much routine. Fortunately, you're the master of transformation. It's a question of pinpointing which areas of your life need revamping -- your friends, love life or business could use a change of pace, right? You're sure to figure it out sooner or later.

Well, I am not in a rut but I have been doing the same things lately. Mainly visiting Mom in the care center recooperating from her femur surgery - and starting my new part time job at Bed Bath & Beyond 3 weeks ago. Mom had surgery on her right thigh 3 weeks ago and they put in 7 screws, a plate, a clamp and several wires to hold her femur together. When Dad & I went to the Dr for her checkup (in a transport ambulance) the Dr said that she is healing very nicely and he wants to see her back on July 13th. I always knew Mom was a tough cookie. She laid there while the asst. took about 50 staples out of her leg. Winced several times but took it like a champ. Me, well i felt nausea and felt like i was going to faint. The asst told me to lay down. I knew the blood was draining from my face and i felt lightheaded. Mom hardly ever feels much pain and has seldom  an aspirin for pain. I love her so.

My BBB job is going well. I really like all the people there and they all have such different personalities. Chelsea, Kim.Karissa, Sue, Kristie, Debbie, Kim. A great group of people to work with. Most are younger than me and are not afraid  to climb the big ladder. I have not been able to bring myself to go to the top yet. The height thing gets to me.

Tonight Dave Connors is giving Mike his last guitar lesson and moving to North Carolina. It has been about 3 years that he has been coming to our house to give lessons. Mike has improved dramatically and I love hearing him play his heart out. We made brownies for Daves last time here and want to take a photo to commemorate their playing together!
